Burton Island TRailhead

Burton Island Trailhead, located inside Delaware Seashore State Park, is the largest in a group of islands separating Rehoboth Bay from Indian River Bay. The raised boardwalks provide gorgeous open views of the bay and marshes as well as local wildlife such as ospreys, horseshoe crabs and more. The trail also provides a home to many diamondback terrapins, be sure to stay on the trail so as to not disturb them!

Delaware Seashore State Park

In addition to being a stunning state park perfect for nature walks, biking, sunbathing, swimming and water sports, Delaware Seashore State Park is also home to the Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum. So, after your day of hiking and swimming, head over to the museum to learn about the U.S. Lifesaving Service, the precursor to the U.S. Coast Guard, and their night-time beach patrols and perilous high seas rescues.

Holts Landing State Park

From bayside beach to grassy fields and hardwood forests, Holts Landing State park provides  stunning views for visitors as well as a home for a plethora of wildlife. Guests can enjoy walking and jogging on the park trails or have a family picnic under the pavilion, complete with a nearby fire pit. Bring your kayaks, canoes and paddle boards along and spend a day exploring the park.
